LBCC SSH Gallery Exhibit Shows Corvallis Artists

"Place & Time," Frossene King

"Mobil Homes," Andy Myers
“Place,” a multi-media exhibit by Corvallis artists Frossene King and Andy Myers, is on exhibit in the South Santiam Hall Gallery at Linn-Benton Community College, 6500 Pacific Blvd SW, in Albany, through Dec. 7.

A reception for the artists will be held from 11:30 a.m. to 12:30 p.m. in the SSH Gallery on Monday, Nov. 26.

King is an adjunct instructor in digital imaging at LBCC; Myers teaches drawing at LBCC’s Benton Center and at Oregon State University.

King is exhibiting work from two projects that explore how visual qualities, data and associations are essential ingredients in creating meaning in visual communication.

“Meditations and Symbols” is based on the view outside her window over a six-month period, and “Decoding The Life of Lula” is a story of “displacement and discovery” inspired by her grandmother’s experiences as a Greek immigrant to the United States.

Myers is showing work from two drawing and printing projects derived from ideas about place.

“Where-Wolf” is a large installation-style drawing inspired by the story of OR-7, the gray wolf that has traveled across Oregon in search of a mate. “Mobile-Homes” is a series of monotype prints that reference the mobility of life through the whimsical use of rickshaws and wheeled carts.

The South Santiam Hall Gallery is open from 8 a.m. to 5 p.m. Monday through Friday.
