LBCC Culinary Arts Winter Banquet

Tickets are on sale for the annual Winter Banquet, presented by Linn-Benton Community College Culinary Arts students, to be held Friday, March 2 with two seating’s at 6:30 and 7 p.m., in the LBCC Commons dining room, second floor of the College Center building, 6500 Pacific Blvd. SW, Albany.

All dishes are prepared and served by the culinary students. This year’s theme for the buffet-style banquet is "A Salute to Russian Cuisine," highlighting the foods of Georgia, Russia and the Ukraine.

A sampling from the menu includes, from Russia: chicken Kiev, mushroom stroganoff, pierogi with beef, and pot roast in red wine; from Ukraine: duck breast with fried apple, Ukrainian kielbasa, Ukrainian cottage cheese pierogi, and chicken in Ukrainian dill sauce; from Georgia: pork-stuffed grape leaves, Georgian braised lamb, beet pkhali, and Georgian poached fish. Desserts include gingerbread, baba rum cake, Easter cake, and blini with smetana.

Tickets are $21 per person and include the complete buffet and beverages. Tickets must be purchased in advance through the LBCC Culinary Arts Department located in the Calapooia Center, second floor room CC-214, or by phone at 541-917-4385.

Oregon Construction Contractors Board Education (CCB) will be offered through the Small Business Development Center at Linn-Benton Community College. This five session course will meet on April 22, 29, May 6, 13, and 20 from 6 p.m. to 10 p.m., on the LBCC Albany campus, Calapooia Center room CC-213. LBCC Holds Annual Career Fair

A free Career Fair will be held at Linn‑Benton Community College Career Thursday, April 11 from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m. in the Activities Center gym, Albany campus, 6500 Pacific Blvd. S.W. More than 50 businesses, industries and government agencies will provide information on careers and employment opportunities. College advisors will available to answer questions on career and technical training programs. Be prepared to ask questions, distribute your resume and complete applications. A variety of art classes, including a few new ones, are being offered through LBCC Community Education starting March 28. In the new class “Art & Etsy,” learn to polish your craft and sell your art. Bring your own product to polish up, or bring to life a new creation. Immerse yourself in product design and then create a catchy shop name and an inviting online presence.
