An exhibit of work by more than a dozen Oregon State University art faculty will be on view at Linn-Benton Community College’s North Santiam Hall Gallery from Oct. 18 to Dec. 1.

An artist reception will be held on Wednesday, Oct. 20 from 2 p.m. to 3 p.m. in the second-floor atrium of the NSH Gallery.

This is the inaugural exhibit in what will become an annual series of shows at LBCC’s NSH Gallery featuring the art faculty from Oregon’s six state universities.

The OSU show demonstrates a dynamic diversity of styles and approaches to the making of art. Participating in the show are:
•Yuji Hiratsuka, one of the Northwest’s most famous printmakers, whose colorist talent in the rare reduction intaglio process will be on display with three pieces;
•Kay Campbell presents two series of mixed-media screen prints, Strings Attached and Closure.
•Graphic designer Christine Gallagher contributes several pieces that address lettering, design, and conceptual concepts.
•Andrea Marks’ type diptych, Type Specimen, recalls the framed and pinned butterfly collections of the 18th century.
•Nancy Froehlich will show a number of ceramic works that involve typography in their design.
•John Maul’s Genesis series of five encaustic wall sculptures typifies his broad-range experimental use of material—in this case encaustic and foam core, and once again includes the sweet smell of beeswax.
•Andrew Myers’ shows an intimate series of monotype prints.
•Jim Folts demonstrates his mastery of digital photography with a pair of ink-jet photographs.
•Nathan Langner contributes an example of his clean packaging design in a collection of boxes entitled “Drip Brew.”
•Sandy Brooke, Julie Green, Shelley Jordon and Douglas Russell show work in a variety of approaches in oil, acrylic, and mixed media paintings.

NSH Gallery hours are 8 a.m. to 5 p.m. Monday through Friday. The exhibit will be on display on the first and second floors of the gallery. For more information, contact Gallery Coordinator Rich Bergeman at 541-740-8098.
